An eartquake is defined as any sudden shaking of the ground, caused by seismic waves, mostly triggered by the sudden movement of the Earth´s crust. The magnitude of such eartquakes ranges from 0 to 9. A magnitude of 2.5 is the weakest earthquake a human can feel, while a magnitude of 4 corresponds to a truck passing by and starting from a magnitude above 5 damage to human built structures occur.
